I lived in Hamburg for half a year and I ate at a lot of places but there where some which simple where the best. The places I showed every friend, the places I will go when I return. These places all have amazing food but if yo ask me a restaurant is more then just the food. So it’s the places where I felt most comfortable and with the best atmosphere and the kindest staff.
1. Phở Tình – Lunch
Who does not love Vietnamese food? This place is the cutest! It is only open for lunch, they have 4 changing lunch menus beside the card. If you like a menu but you would like to have it without meat e.g., just ask if it is possible, they are super kind! The menus are cheap and huge, I always take half of it home and enjoy it the next day.
Personal Recommendation
Sommer rolls, fried noodles and ginger lemonade.
2. Jim Burrito – Dinner
When I randomly discovered Jim Burrito I fell in love with the place. The food is not to question the amazing. The card is simple you can choose between Burritos, Quesadillas or Enchiladas and there are always different vegan, vegetarian or meat options. But it is not just the good food that makes this place so lovable, it’s also the owner and the atmosphere. Stepping into the restaurant feels like going to Mexico. Being there is just good vibes. And what truly makes this place the best is the owner. I recommend you just go there and get to know him!
Personal Recommendation
A Burrito at the bar and a drink! Maybe some tequila shots for dessert?
3. Gnosa Cafe – Cake
Who doesn’t love cake. And the best place to eat some is in the old traditional Cafe Gnosa at Lange Reihe. They have a vitrine filled with different kind of huge cakes. Everytime I was there all the cakes looked sooo delicious I couldn’t decide which one to pick.

Heisse Zitrone and a cake of your choice.
